Mumbai, August 8 (HS). Vishwa Hindu Parishad's Konkan province minister Mohan Salekar has demanded the central government to ensure the safety of Hindus and minorities in Bangladesh. He has said that the neighbouring country Bangladesh is trapped in a strange uncertainty, violence and anarchy. After the resignation of Hasina government and her leaving the country, the process of forming an interim government is underway. In this hour of crisis, India, as a friend, stands firmly with the entire society of Bangladesh.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad's Konkan province minister Mohan Salekar was addressing journalists here on Thursday. He said that in Bangladesh, religious places, business establishments and houses of Hindus, Sikhs and other minorities have also been damaged. There is hardly any district left in Bangladesh which has not become a target of violence and terror. He said that now only less than 8 percent of Hindus are left in Bangladesh and they too are constantly becoming victims of Jihadi persecution.
In a press conference, Vishwa Hindu Parishad's national spokesperson Shriraj Nair said that in Bangladesh, Hindus' homes, houses, shops, offices, business establishments, women, children and even their centres of faith and belief, temples and gurudwaras, are not safe. The condition of minorities there is going from bad to worse. In such a situation, it is the responsibility of the world community to take effective action for the safety and protection of human rights of minorities in Bangladesh.
Nair said that Vishwa Hindu Parishad urges the Indian government to take all possible steps for the safety of minorities in Bangladesh. It is possible that taking advantage of this situation, a big attempt will be made to infiltrate across the border, so we have to remain alert. Therefore, it is the responsibility of our security forces to maintain strict vigilance and caution on the border and not allow any kind of infiltration to take place.
