Bhopal, 13 November (HS). Mumbai NIA Special Court has issued a new bailable warrant against former Bhopal MP and BJP leader Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur. Pragya Thakur remained absent in the court on Wednesday, the last hearing of the nearly 16-year-old Malegaon blast case. That is why the court issued a warrant against him. This is the second warrant in eight days.

The case was heard in the court of NIA special judge AK Lahoti on Wednesday. The court said that Pragya Singh Thakur did not appear in the court, as she was directed in the earlier order (warrant). Special public prosecutors Avinash Rasal and Anushree Rasal told the court that Pragya was not living at the address where the first bailable warrant was issued. Because of this the warrant could not reach them. After knowing the reason, the court has issued a new warrant against Pragya Singh Thakur.

Special Judge Lahoti said that a fresh bailable warrant of Rs 10,000 should be issued against accused Pragya Thakur as per the new address given by her lawyer. Make it returnable on December 2, 2024.

Before this, on November 6, the court had issued a warrant against Pragya Thakur and asked her to appear in the court on November 13. Then Pragya Thakur shared one of her pictures on Instagram and wrote, ‘If I remain alive, I will definitely go.’ His close relatives told that he is admitted in a hospital in Delhi. There is swelling on his face. He is having trouble even seeing.

Earlier in March also, a bailable warrant of Rs 10,000 was issued against Pragya Thakur. Now once again the court has issued a bailable warrant of Rs 10,000 against him. Sadhvi Pragya Thakur was not appearing in court for a long time due to ill health. Regarding this, his lawyer JP Mishra had appealed to the court to grant him exemption from appearance. But the court rejected the appeal during the hearing on Tuesday. The court said that now the final arguments in the case are going on and it is mandatory for him to be present during this time.
