Ranchi, 20 April (HS). After the expiry of the remand period of Mohammad Saddam, the mastermind of preparing fake documents in the Badgai area land scam case related to former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, he was presented in the court of ED Special Judge Rajeev Ranjan on Saturday.
Considering the request of ED, the court ordered to send Saddam Hussein to Birsa Munda Central Jail in judicial custody. Saddam Hussein will appear in the case through video conferencing on May 2. Before this, ED has taken Saddam on remand twice and interrogated him. On Saddam's information, ED took major action and arrested four accused including JMM leader Antu Tirkey.
ED had arrested Saddam Hussein again on April 9 after getting permission from the court in the case registered under ECIR 6/2023. Saddam was earlier arrested by ED in another land case and sent to jail. Earlier, the ED team had filed a charge sheet against former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Bhanu Pratap Prasad, Architect Vinod Singh, Hilarius Kachhap and Rajkumar Pahan in the land scam of Badgai area. Hilarius has died in this.
