Madhavi Raje passes away: Madhavi Raje Scindia, mother of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, died on Wednesday. He was admitted in Delhi AIIMS for the last two months and was undergoing treatment. His health deteriorated just before the third phase of voting. His mortal remains will be brought to Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh for the last rites.

A statement issued from the office of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said, 'With great sadness we want to inform you that Rajmata Saheb is no more. Madhavi Raje Scindia, mother of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and queen mother of the Gwalior royal family, was undergoing treatment for the last two months. He was in AIIMS hospital for the last two weeks and breathed his last at 9.28 am.

Madhavi Raje was originally from Nepal

Rajmata Madhavi Raje Scindia was originally from Nepal. He belonged to the royal family of Nepal. His grandfather Judge Shamsher Bahadur was the Prime Minister of Nepal. Rajmata was married to Madhavrao Scindia in 1966. It is noteworthy that Jyotiraditya Scindia is considered very close to his mother. Due to his mother's ill health, he stayed away from BJP programs.
