A rail accident took place in Kanpur, UP this morning. 22 coaches of the train derailed here. Regarding this accident, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has said that at 2:35 am today, the engine of Sabarmati Express (Varanasi to Ahmedabad) near Kanpur collided with something placed on the track. After this it derailed. Some marks have been seen after this incident. Some marks have been found near the 16th coach from the loco. According to initial investigation, there is no fracture in the railway track.
The Railway Minister has written on his social media handle X that evidence of the accident has been secured. IB and UP Police are also investigating the matter. There were no injuries to passengers or staff in this incident. Train has been arranged for the passengers to Ahmedabad.
Meanwhile, Kanpur ADM City Rakesh Verma said that 22 coaches have derailed, luckily there are no casualties. All the passengers are being sent back to the station by bus. A memo train is also coming here. Somehow there are no casualties.

Regarding this accident, the driver has also said that prima facie the accident happened due to the boulder hitting the engine, because as soon as the boulder hit the engine, the cattle guard of the engine got bent.

Goods train derailed at Rangapani in Siliguri
The second accident also happened in Siliguri-Ranga Paani area of West Bengal. This accident happened in a private yard where a freight train carrying fuel derailed. Late night a freight train derailed in Siliguri-Ranga Paani area. The freight train was carrying fuel.
