There was massive devastation in the war-torn region when a large swarm of kamikaze drones fired by the Russian military directly targeted a major industrial and logistics warehouse. In this sudden and intense air attack, the main structure of the warehouse completely collapsed and there was a huge explosion, the sound of which was heard several kilometers away. Local disaster management and emergency services officials have confirmed that so far at least 37 people have died on the spot in this horrific attack, while more than 50 people are seriously injured. There is a possibility of further increase in the number of casualties due to the huge fire at the incident site and the huge pile of debris.
According to witnesses and local security sources, the attack took place after midnight when logistics personnel and security forces were engaged in routine work at the warehouse complex. As soon as sirens sounded in the air, drones coming at high speed targeted the roof of the warehouse and the main storage area. Immediately after the attack, a series of explosions took place in the flammable materials, fuel and technical equipment kept in the warehouse, turning the entire complex into a huge ball of fire. Due to the impact of the loud explosion, the windows of many nearby residential and commercial buildings were broken and concrete debris scattered hundreds of meters away.
As soon as information about the incident was received, the local fire department, search and rescue wing of the army and paramedical teams reached the spot along with dozens of ambulances. Rescue teams initially faced severe difficulties in entering the complex due to high flames and heavy smoke. With the help of heavy cranes, bulldozers and thermal imaging cameras, work is going on on a war footing to remove collapsed steel girders and concrete slabs and rescue people buried under the debris. Dozens of seriously burnt and injured civilians have been admitted to trauma centers of nearby military and civilian hospitals, where the condition of many people is said to be very critical.
The targeted warehouse was a vital distribution center in the region, handling civilian supplies, food grains and technical equipment. This precise drone attack not only completely destroyed valuable property and machinery, but also dealt a major blow to the regional supply chain. The local administration has shut down electricity and gas supply to the area as a precautionary measure to avoid the risk of any secondary chemical or gas leakage. Security agencies have cordoned off the entire area and a team of forensic experts is conducting a detailed investigation of the drone debris and the range of explosives used.
This deadly attack on civilian infrastructure and warehouse is being strongly condemned internationally. Defense experts believe that Russia is now changing its strategy on the battlefield and is using drone swarms on a large scale to paralyze logistics nodes, storage centers and urban supply lines. Following the attack, the Regional Air Defense Command has been put on high alert and additional anti-drone jammers and mobile air defense systems are being deployed around sensitive targets.
