Russian student named Wi-Fi network 'Ukraine', court sentenced him to 10 days in jail

Amid the ongoing war with Ukraine, citizens in Russia are being retaliated against if they criticize the government for waging war.

A student studying at Moscow State University has also experienced the dictatorial policies of the Putin government. This student used Ukraine in the name of his Wi-Fi network. He named the network Slava Ukrainian…which means Glory to Ukraine…the slogan of Slava Ukraine is also a slogan of the Ukrainian army.

After this information came to light, action was taken against the student. The court has sentenced this student to 10 days in jail. The court says the student publicly displayed Nazi symbols along with slogans against Ukraine in the name of the network.

It has been more than two years since Russia started a war with Ukraine and public anti-war demonstrations have been banned during this period.
