INS Tushil joins Indian Navy: The war between Russia and Ukraine has been going on for the last two and a half years. There have been many incidents of attacks on each other by both the countries. However, in the meantime both the countries have come together for an important program of the Indian Navy. Both the countries have together built a huge ship for the Indian Navy, which was handed over to India on Monday in the presence of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.

India currently has 6 such warships

India signed a deal with Russia for two warships in 2016. Frigate INS Tushil is one of them. INS Tushil Krivak III class frigate, which is a modern stealth missile frigate. India currently has 6 such warships and all of them are built in Russia.

INS Tusheel is equipped with advanced missiles

INS Tushil is a Krivak III class frigate, equipped with advanced missiles. Apart from the two warships being built in Russia, two more ships are being built in India. It is likely to be built in Goa Shipyard.

Ukraine made warship engine

The primary engines used in these warships are made in Ukraine. Most of the ships in the Indian Navy fleet use gas turbine engines manufactured by Ukrainian company Zorya-Mashprot. The company ranks among the world’s top manufacturers of marine gas turbines.

Due to this the delivery of the ship took more time

The most special thing about this order is that despite the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, India has received this ship. Besides, India has also faced challenges in completing this order. For which India itself had to bring the engine from Ukraine, so that the ship could be ready. In such a situation, a lot of time passed in the delivery of the ship.

Know the specialty of INS Tushil

INS Tushil is an upgraded Krivak III class frigate of Project 1135.6. Six of these ships are already in service, including three Sword-class ships built at the Baltiysky Shipyard, St. Petersburg, and three follow-on Tag-class ships built at the Yantar Shipyard, Kaliningrad. INS Tusheel is the seventh in the series and the first of two Advanced Additional Follow-on ships. For this, an agreement was signed between JSC Rosoboronexport, Indian Navy and Government of India in October 2016.

INS Tushil is equipped with these weapons

The length of this warship is 409.5 feet, beam is 49.10 feet and draft is 13.9 feet. It can run at a speed of 59 km per hour in the sea. It could carry 180 soldiers, including 18 officers, and could survive at sea for up to 30 days. INS Tusheel is equipped with electronic warfare systems. It is equipped with 4 KT-216 decoy launchers. It is also armed with 100 mm A-190E naval gun. It is also armed with one 76 mm Auto Melara naval gun and 2 AK-630 CIWS and 2 Kashtan CIWS guns.

China’s concern will increase

The first of the two warships being built for India was delivered on Monday. The Chinese Navy has become the fastest growing navy in the world. In such a situation, it is certain that with the increase of India’s strength with this new warship in the Indian Navy’s fleet in the Indian Ocean, China’s tension will also increase.
