Russia vs Ukraine war news : Russia launched a missile attack on a town in southern Ukraine, killing seven people, including children, and wounding several others, local authorities said in a statement. Officials said 36 people were injured in the attack on Saturday evening, and a day of mourning has been declared today. Local governor Ivan Fedorov said three children were among the dead.
“A shop, residential building and a vital infrastructure were damaged in Vilnyansk,” Fedorov said. Following the attack, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy appealed to Ukraine's allies to provide more support to counter the Russian attack.
Eight people were killed and 14 others injured on Saturday night in Ukraine's violence-hit eastern Donetsk region, according to the local governor.
Meanwhile, the Russian Defence Ministry on Sunday claimed that its forces shot down 36 Ukrainian drones in southwestern Russia overnight.
Vilnius is in the Zaporizhia region, 30 km (20 miles) from the local capital. Ukrainian authorities released a photo of a body lying in a park in Vilnius.
