Purnia, 22 July (HS). Newly elected MLA of the Legislative Assembly Shankar Singh took oath in the Legislative Assembly on Monday. Although Shankar Singh is a former MLA, when he was elected MLA in 2005, he could not take oath in the Legislative Assembly because the government could not be formed. At that time Shankar Singh had won the election from Lok Janshakti Party.

After the oath taking ceremony, happiness has spread in the area and everyone has started congratulating him. As soon as he came out of the Vidhansabha after taking oath, dozens of supporters who had reached Patna felicitated him with bouquets and congratulated him. Let us tell you that after the resignation of former MLA Bima Bharti, Vidhansabha elections were held here on 10th July this month, in which independent and former Shankar Singh defeated JDU candidate Kaladhar Mandal by about 8200 votes.

Shankar Singh got about 68211 votes and JDU's Kaladhar Mandal got about 60 thousand votes. Dozens of supporters who reached Patna on the occasion included Ram Pal Mandal, Babbu Mandal, Munna Mandal, Khokha Sharma, Ajit Kumar, Vibhu Shekhar Singh alias Nunu Singh, Ganesh Thakur, former Zila Parishad member Rakesh Singh of Puraini, Mukhiya Mo Jafo of Sheikhpura, Mo Ladu, Mo Asif Anwar, Amarnath Jha etc. and expressed happiness and said that this moment will never be forgotten. They honoured MLA Shankar Singh and his wife and Zila Parishad member Pratima Singh by giving them bouquets and said that the way they met the Chief Minister for the development of the region and appealed to him for development, what could be bigger than this for the region. They know that there is less time and problems are staring at the region, yet they have the same expectations from them.
