Bank Locker Rent Charge: Some rules related to rent, security and nominee in bank locker related services have been changed. This rule is going to be implemented in the top banks of the country like SBI, ICICI, HDFC and PNB. Due to which bank locker charges have changed. Bank lockers are provided by banks to different categories of customers like individual customers, partnership firms, limited companies, clubs etc. Banks do not provide locker services to minors. The bank charges its customer an annual fee for locker service. And guarantees safety. Customers keep their valuables safe in bank lockers for a nominal fee.
Fees vary by location
According to media reports, the locker rent of SBI, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank and Punjab National Bank is decided on the basis of the branch, location and locker size of the bank. For which a new rate has been declared under the new rules.

Medium Locker: Rs. 4,000 (Metro/Urban) and Rs. 3,000 (semi-urban/rural)

Extra Large Locker: Rs. 12,000 (Metro/Urban) and Rs. 9,000 (semi-urban/rural)

Metro+ Location: Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 22,000

Notably, the bank offers 12 free locker visits to customers, after which it charges Rs 100 for each additional visit.
