Raipur, 22 July (HS). The opposition brought an adjournment motion on the Baloda Bazaar arson case in the Chhattisgarh Assembly today. The discussion on which was started by former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. On which former minister Ajay Chandrakar from the ruling party raised objection. Chandrakar said that a judicial inquiry is going on in the Baloda Bazaar case. Therefore, it is not appropriate to discuss this matter in the assembly. There was a heated argument between the ruling party and the opposition in the house, and there was also an uproar. After the discussion, the Speaker of the Assembly rejected the work adjournment motion. After which the opposition raised slogans in the house to give justice to the Satnami community, after which Speaker Raman Singh announced the adjournment of the proceedings of the house till 3 o'clock. When the proceedings of the house started again, Leader of Opposition Charandas Mahant started the discussion on this. The Speaker wanted to take the proceedings of the house forward, due to which all the Congress members got angry and entered the sanctum sanctorum and kept raising slogans like Chief Minister resign, give justice to the Satnami community. Meanwhile, the speaker announced the suspension of 29 opposition members as per the rules and asked them to leave the house but this had no effect on the opposition and they continued to raise anti-government slogans. After which the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Dr. Raman Singh has adjourned the proceedings of the house till tomorrow.

Earlier, while discussing the adjournment motion, Leader of Opposition Dr. Charan Das Mahant said that the faith and symbol of Chhattisgarh has been destroyed. There has been a conspiracy to destroy the harmony and brotherhood of the state. The peace of the state has been disturbed. An atmosphere of violence has been created. Efforts have been made to divide the society. According to my information, 168 people have been arrested so far from various organizations. We want to know through the House who are those people who want to destroy the goodwill of Chhattisgarh. We demand a discussion on this.

Former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that arson was done in the composite building of Balodabazar. The dispute started with the damage to the victory pillar of the Satnami community. An FIR was registered after the Satnami community expressed its anger. Three labourers from Bihar were arrested. The anger in the community kept increasing. The community said that a person cannot damage the victory pillar just because he did not get his wages. The community demanded a CBI inquiry. The former Chief Minister said that the community had sought permission for the agitation. People came from outside the state as well. People also came from Nagpur. More than ten thousand people had gathered. SP-IG, Collector, none was present. No officer came to take the memorandum at the meeting place. The role of SP-Collector is suspicious.

Congress MLA Umesh Patel said that the police picked up a youth named Shailendra Banjare. He was not present at the scene of the incident. Still he was taken into custody. Similarly, the police reached Deepak Meeri's house to take him into custody. He had died three months ago. Congress MLA Kavita Pranlahare said, a Bihari was brought and made a criminal. When the protest took place, there were not even five hundred policemen in the crowd of thousands.

Former minister Kawasi Lakhma said that we raise the slogan that Chhattisgarhis are the best, but even the collector's office in Balodabazar is not safe. The collector and SP are responsible for this incident. These people should be sent to jail.

Home Minister Vijay Sharma said in his statement that it is wrong to say that no action was taken on the Amar Gufa incident. It is also wrong to say that officers were not present to receive the memorandum, 40 police personnel were injured, 14 cases have been registered. After the statement of the Home Minister, the Speaker of the Assembly rejected the adjournment motion.

Earlier, BJP MLA Ajay Chandrakar raised a point of order. He said that the question of the food department was not heard in this house on the grounds that it was pending in the court. A judicial inquiry commission has been set up on the Balodabazar incident. In such a situation, when this matter is raised in the house, the chair should give its ruling.

BJP MLA Dharamjit Singh said that the scope of investigation of the judicial inquiry commission is quite wide. The judicial inquiry commission has been formed under the chairmanship of a High Court judge. It is written in clause 7 that such cases which are pending in the court cannot be discussed.

On this, Bhupesh Baghel said that it is clear in the rules that the Speaker can give permission at his discretion. With the permission of the Speaker, the matter under process in the court can be discussed. The scope of the inquiry commission is limited. In the Baloda Bazar incident, the Collector's office and the SP office were set on fire. Vandalism was done. Earlier also, judicial and semi-judicial cases have been discussed in the House.

BJP MLA Ajay Chandrakar said that why did the incident happen? Its background will also be discussed. All the issues related to the incident will come up in the investigation. Therefore, keeping in mind the tradition of the House, this was not discussed. Congress MLA Atal Shrivastava said that a judicial inquiry was set up on Jheeram Ghati and the sterilization scandal, but that too was discussed in the House.

When the proceedings of the House resumed, Leader of Opposition Charandas Mahant started a discussion on this. The Speaker tried to take the proceedings of the House forward, which angered all the Congress members and they entered the sanctum sanctorum and started shouting slogans like Chief Minister resign, give justice to the Satnami community. Meanwhile, the Speaker announced the suspension of 29 members of the opposition as per the rules and asked everyone to leave the House, but this had no effect on the opposition and they kept raising anti-government slogans. After which the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Dr. Raman Singh adjourned the proceedings of the House till tomorrow.
