Pakistan's limited overs captain Babar Azam has decided to step down from the captaincy. He was the captain of the ODI and T20 team. He was made the captain of the team before the T20 World Cup. The performance of the Pakistani team in recent times has not been anything special. The team had to face defeat against Bangladesh. Apart from this, the team was already out of the T20 World Cup tour. The team had to face defeat against America. There was increasing pressure on Babar Azam to leave the captaincy of the limited overs team.
Babar Azam told the reason
Announcing his resignation from the post of captain, he wrote on social media, “I want to share some news with you today. I have decided to resign from the post of captain of Pakistan men's cricket team. I had informed the PCB and team management about this last month. It has been an honor to lead this team, but now the time has come for me to step down and focus on my role.”
Captaincy is a big honor and with it comes additional responsibility. I want to concentrate on my performance. I want to enjoy my batting. I want to spend time with my family, which makes me happy. After leaving the captaincy, I will be able to concentrate on my batting. Thank you for your support.
Mohammad Yusuf also resigned
