According to reports, after the death of Baba Siddiqui, most questions are being raised on the Deputy Chief Minister. NCP (Ajit Pawar Group) has even said, 'This is a failure of the Home Department.' The special thing is that Fadnavis holds the Home Ministry in the Maharashtra government.

NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) spokesperson MLC Amol Mitkari said, 'Baba Siddiqui's murder is a big blow to our party. This murder reflects the serious security situation in Mumbai. If this happens to a common man, we understand. But a former minister died, which shows the failure of the Home Department. Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) demanded resignation from the Chief Minister

Along with NCP, opposition forces in the state are also cornering Fadnavis and the state government. Congress said, 'Where is the government? Whenever questions arise on law and order. Law and order has broken down in Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur and other parts of the state. Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) has accused Chief Minister Eknath Shinde of interfering in Fadnavis's department and demanded his resignation.

Questions raised on Mumbai Police and Home Department

In September 2023, police lathicharged protesters during a demonstration led by Manoj Jarange Patil. Meanwhile, Fadnavis also had to face questions from allies. However, NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal came to his rescue. In February, BJP's Kalyan East MLA Ganpat Gaikwad shot Shiv Sena worker Mahesh Gaikwad at a police station.

Questions were also raised on Fadnavis during the firing at actor Salman Khan's house. The government, police and home department also had to face questions from the Bombay High Court in the case of sexual harassment of minor girls in Badlapur.
