Kerala Lok Sabha Elections 2024: There has been an uproar in the politics of the state after the controversial statement given by LDF MLA PV Anwar on Rahul Gandhi in Kerala. Calling Rahul Gandhi a 'low class citizen', he has demanded his 'DNA test'.
An independent MLA from Nilambur assembly seat made this controversial statement during an election rally in Palakkad on Tuesday. Nilambur Assembly is under the same Wayanad Lok Sabha from where Rahul Gandhi is contesting the elections for the second time.
PV Anwar said, 'I am part of Wayanad, which is Rahul Gandhi's constituency. I can't tell his surname is Gandhi. He has become such a low class citizen that he is not worthy of being called Gandhi. I am not saying this. The people of the country have been saying this for the last two days.
Anwar was angry over Rahul Gandhi's remarks against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Rahul had raised the issue in recent rallies in Kerala as to why Vijayan was not interrogated and arrested by the central investigating agencies despite several allegations of corruption.
Anwar said, 'Are there such members in the Nehru family? Can someone born in the Nehru family say this? I doubt it. My opinion is that DNA test of Rahul Gandhi should be done. He further said, 'Rahul has no right to grow up as the grandson of Jawaharlal Nehru. The situation has reached such a stage that we wonder if Rahul Gandhi is an agent of PM Modi?
Congress is angry with Anwar's controversial remarks on Rahul. Party's working state president MM Hasan has said that the party has filed an election complaint against Anwar. He also demanded immediate registration of a police case against the Nehru family and Rahul Gandhi for using 'hate speech'.
The Congress leader said, 'PV Anwar is the new incarnation of Godse. Anwar's words are more deadly than Godse's bullet which took the life of Gandhiji. Anwar has made such comments, which no public representative should ever say. The Congress leader also alleged that PV Anwar had made such remarks against Rahul at the behest of Pinarayi Vijayan, who was continuously criticizing Rahul Gandhi. Hasan said, 'PV Anwar works like the chief minister's suicide squad.'
Whereas Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijay has defended the LDF MLA to some extent and said that Rahul Gandhi is also not beyond criticism. He said, 'He will get the answer to what Rahul Gandhi said. He is not a person who is above criticism.
