Hamirpur, 18 August (HS). On Sunday, angry people created a ruckus by attacking the shop of the president of the Idgah Committee after receiving a notice accusing him of illegal occupation of the Idgah site. The committee president sent a complaint to the Sumerpur police station in-charge, Superintendent of Police and the Chief Minister's portal demanding action. Saddened by the incident, he resigned from the post of president.
Idgah Committee President Tufail Ahmed has complained to the Chief Minister's Portal, Superintendent of Police and Sumerpur Police Station informing that his shuttering shop is in front of the old government hospital on Banki Road. When he went home to have lunch, a mob of about two dozen people led by Ibrahim son Ismail created a ruckus in his shop.
He informed that being the president of the registered organization of Anjuman Noorul Islam Idgah, he had got a notice issued by Advocate Satyanarayan Gupta to Ibrahim Ahmed son of Ismail and Riayat Utla, Ramzan and Rashida to vacate the land of Idgah. Irritated by this, Ibrahim gathered a crowd and created a ruckus in his absence. The committee chairman has filed a report under relevant sections and demanded action. Tufail Ahmed said that being saddened by the incident, he has also submitted his resignation to the secretary of the committee.
