News India Live, Digital Desk: Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, is soon going to get relief from potholes and bad roads. The government has approved the proposal for renovation and strengthening of 34 important roads of the city. The construction of these roads will not only ease the traffic within the city, but will also increase the speed of vehicles on the link roads connecting to major highways.

Roads in these major areas will be rejuvenated

These roads selected for renovation connect different corners of the city. These mainly include the following routes:

Lucknow-Varanasi route: Part of South City to Millennium School.

Kanpur-Rae Bareli Link: Roads connecting Rae Bareli route to Kanpur route on Outer Ring Road.

Hardoi-Sitapur Ring Road: The stretch from Lucknow-Kanpur road to Hardoi road and from there to Sitapur road via Ring Road.

Delhi-Bareilly Highway: The part of Delhi-Bareilly Highway falling within the limits of Lucknow.

Sultanpur-Pipraghat route: The road leading to Pipraghat from Lucknow-Sultanpur road.

Budget and Time: Total Rs 42 crore Have been approved. According to PWD officials, the tender process has been completed and next week Construction work will be started on the spot from.

Renovation Techniques: There will not be just patchwork on these roads, but the entire layer will be laid using ‘hot mix’ technology, which will make the roads durable for a long time.

Freedom from jam: The construction of these roads will reduce the pressure on Shaheed Path and Outer Ring Road, as local traffic will be able to use these alternative and better roads.

Green Corridor (Phase 2): Recently, the section from Daliganj to Samta Moolak Chowk has been inaugurated, due to which the distance between Hazratganj and Gomtinagar has been reduced.

3 Model Roads: ‘Model roads’ are being developed at a cost of Rs 150 crore in Kanpur Road (Piccadilly Hotel to Power House), Aliganj Hanuman Mandir area and Jankipuram extension.

Polytechnic-Kisan Path Elevated Road: Work on this project worth Rs 2219 crore is also about to start.
