Dhanvantari Jayanti 2024: Ayurveda Day, also known as National Ayurveda Day, is celebrated every year in India and around the world to mark the birthday of Dhanvantari, the Hindu god of medicine. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted all the countrymen on the occasion of Dhanvantari Jayanti and 9th Ayurveda Day on Tuesday (29 October).

Prime Minister Modi wrote in a post on the social media platform 'X', 'Today the whole world is accepting it and I am confident that this ancient method of medicine will be useful for the healthy life of the entire humanity.'

On the occasion, Prime Minister Modi will launch, inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several health sector projects worth about Rs 12,850 crore at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) today. The Prime Minister will give a fresh start to the Ayushman Bharat scheme and expand health care coverage to all senior citizens aged 70 years and above. Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the second phase of the country's first All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA). It will include a Panchakarma hospital, an Ayurvedic pharmacy for medicine manufacturing, a sports medicine unit, a central library, an IT and startup incubation center and a 500-seat auditorium.

Apart from this, the foundation of two Central Research Institutes of Yoga and Naturopathy will be laid at Khordha in Odisha and Raipur in Chhattisgarh. Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate four AYUSH Centers of Excellence. Prime Minister Modi will launch many schemes to strengthen the health sector. He will also launch a nature testing campaign in the country, which will make people health conscious.

Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate projects under five production-linked incentive schemes to promote Make in India in the health sector. In which high level medical equipment and important medicines will be manufactured.
