Ranchi, 03 April (Hindus). Railway Protection Force (RPF) has seized liquor from Hatia station under Operation Vigilant. The accused Umesh Singh has been arrested in the case. He is a resident of Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh.
64 liquor bottles have been recovered from its bag. According to the information received on Wednesday, on the instructions of RPF Commandant Pawan Kumar in Ranchi division, special vigil is being maintained at stations and trains in view of the Lok Sabha elections. In this sequence, under Operation Vigilant, RPF Hatia and Flying Team Ranchi jointly conducted an investigation operation at Hatia Railway Station. Meanwhile, a person was seen in suspicious condition with a big bag in train number 18623. On searching the bag, 64 bottles of liquor were recovered from the bag.
During interrogation, the accused told that he used to take liquor by train to Bihar and sell it at a higher price. Sub Inspector Ravi Shekhar said that the seized goods and the accused were handed over to the Excise Department for further action.
