Ranchi, 04 October (HS). Railway Protection Force (RPF) has arrested a ticket broker from Patel Chowk, Ranchi. The name of the broker is Pintu Kumar. He is a resident of Harmu Housing Colony.
Ranchi RPF Inspector D. Sharma said on Friday that on the instructions of Ranchi Divisional Security Commissioner Pawan Kumar, in view of Durga Puja, RPF is continuously running a campaign to crack down on ticket brokers. In the same sequence, on the basis of secret information, during secret surveillance in Patel Chowk, a person was arrested on suspicion under the leadership of Inspector D. Sharma of Ranchi Post. During search, live and old railway tickets worth Rs 19,200 were recovered from it.
During interrogation, the ticket broker told that he had bought those tickets from the PRS counter of the railway station by taking commission money from another person. Sub-Inspector Suraj Pandey seized the tickets and arrested the accused under Section 143 of the Railway Act.
