CRISIL Report: There is good news for you on the inflation front. The prices of veg and non-veg thali have become cheaper now. According to the report of Crisil, the softening of tomato prices in the month of August has made not only vegetarian but also non-veg thali cheaper.
This percentage has fallen
On an annual basis, the price of vegetarian thali has fallen by about 8 percent and the price of non-vegetarian thali has fallen by 12 percent. In July, vegetarian thali became 11 percent more expensive than June and the price of non-vegetarian thali also increased by 6 percent. The high price of tomatoes in July had troubled people.
The price of veg thali is Rs 31.2 and the price of non-veg thali is Rs 59.3.
According to the Crisil report, the price of vegetable thali has come down to Rs 31.2 in August. It was Rs 34 in August, 2023. The non-veg thali has become Rs 59.3 in August, which was Rs 67.5 a year ago. According to the Crisil Market Intelligence and Analysis Roti Chawal Rate Index, the price of vegetarian thali was Rs 32.6 per plate in July and Rs 29.4 per plate in June. The price of non-veg thali was also Rs 61.4. Its rate was Rs 58 in June. Chicken is added instead of lentils in non-veg thali.
Prices of tomatoes, edible oils and spices have come down
According to the Crisil Market Intelligence and Analysis Roti Chawal Rate Index, the prices of tomatoes, edible oil and spices have fallen in August 2024. People have got relief due to the cheap prices of petrol-diesel and the cheap prices of chicken, mutton and fish. Tomato contributes 14 percent to the price of a vegetarian thali. In August, the price of tomato has reached Rs 50 per kg.
A year ago this price was Rs 102. The price of tomato was Rs 66 per kg in July, 2024 and Rs 42 per kg in June. Vegetables in the veg thali include onion, tomato and potato along with rice, dal, curd and salad.
The prices of potatoes and onions are increasing
The public has got relief due to the reduction in the price of LPG cylinders. The prices of edible oil have become cheaper by 6%, black pepper by 30% and cumin by 58%. The rates of chicken, mutton and fish have also fallen by 13%. These items contribute 50% to the price of a non-vegetarian thali.
Compared to July, vegetarian thali has become cheaper by 4% and non-vegetarian thali by 3%. However, an increase in the prices of potatoes and onions has been recorded in August.
