Chhatarpur, 20 August (HS). A road accident in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday morning caused chaos. An auto rickshaw full of devotees of Bageshwar Dham collided with a truck on National Highway-39 near Kadari. 5 devotees died on the spot in the accident, while 7 people are seriously injured. The deceased include elderly and children. After receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot. The injured have been sent to the hospital for treatment.
This accident happened on Jhansi Khajuraho Highway NH 39 at around 5:00 am. A large number of devotees got down at Chhatarpur station and left for Bageshwar Dham in autos. The auto driver overloaded the vehicles. Near Kadari, the auto (UP 95 AT 2421) rammed into a truck (PB 13 BB 6479) from behind. The auto was completely smashed in the collision. It is being told that around 12 to 15 people were sitting in the auto. At present, the police have registered a case and started investigation.
