Class 6 exam consists of 200 marks paper in which objective questions are asked from English, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Intellectual Ability (Reasoning) and Mathematics. It is worth noting that the English subject is only qualifying in nature, while the merit is determined by the marks obtained in the remaining subjects. There are two different question papers for class 9, in which the first paper includes questions from English, Hindi and Social Science and the second paper includes questions from Mathematics and General Science.

Candidates who are successful in the written examination are invited for the second stage of interview, where the student’s confidence, communication skills and general awareness are assessed by the Board. Candidates who are successful in the interview undergo rigorous medical examination in military hospitals in the final stage. The final merit list of the candidates found medically fit is released, on the basis of which they are admitted to the five national military schools of the country as per their priority and available seats. Filling the form on time and starting regular practice is the main basis of success in this prestigious examination.
