River Dialogue Padyatra to conserve Gerukadham River in Nepal

Araria, 19 February (Hindustan Reporter). Under the Culture and Nature Conservation Campaign across the border in Nepal, a Nadi Samvad Padyatra was taken out from the historical and mythological site Gerukadham, which ended at the source of Geruka River.

On the occasion of completion of one year of the weekly Geruka river cleaning campaign, which was started with the aim of conserving the Gerukadham river, which is life-giving not only in historical, religious and cultural importance but also in economic importance, the confluence of Geruka river at Loharpatti in Dhanusha district of Janakpurdham. River dialogue march was carried out from the confluence point of Pipradhi of the municipality to the origin point of Kabilasa Dharampur of Bhangaha municipality.

After the Sankalp Puja of Geruka Mata Yatra being held at Geruka Dham, the confluence of Geruka River, the program was inaugurated by the chief guest Madhesh Pradesh Sports and Social Welfare Minister Surita Sah and State MP Ramashish Yadav.

On the occasion, Ekdara village municipality chief Deep Narayan Mandal, former MP Manju Yadav, social worker Amarchandra Anil, Journalist Federation Madhesh State President Rajesh Kumar Karna, environmental campaigners from India Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Suresh Sharma, Harishchandra Yadav, Ram Hriday Yadav, Brajkishore Yadav. Participated in the program. The environmentalists involved in the padyatra were welcomed by the villagers at various places. Ideas were expressed regarding plantation of trees on the spot and linking it with the Ramayana Circuit.
