Due to which Pant had to stay out for the third day also. Pant made a brilliant comeback in batting on the fourth day. On the fourth day, Pant batted brilliantly and scored a half-century. With this, Pant also completed 2500 runs in his Test career. Now Pant has left behind former Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni in one case.

Now Pant has become the fastest Indian wicketkeeper batsman to complete 2500 runs in Test cricket. Earlier, MS Dhoni was the fastest Indian wicket-keeper batsman to complete 2500 runs in Test cricket. Dhoni completed 2500 test runs in the 69th innings. Whereas it took 62 innings for Pant to complete 2500 runs.
