Ramgarh, 26 August (HS). Thieves were targeting an accident-damaged rice-laden truck in Chutupalu valley of Ramgarh police station area. But due to the alertness of the truck driver, not only the plans of the thieves failed but two thieves also landed behind bars.
Information about this case was given by Ramgarh SP Ajay Kumar during a press conference on Monday evening. The SP said that the arrested thieves are Tilka Bhuinya and Dhananjay Mahato, residents of Leprosy Colony of Ramgarh city. He said that on August 25, a rice laden truck CG 14 MK 0417 met with an accident in the valley. Due to it being night, the truck and the rice sacks were present there. When the truck driver fell asleep at night, the clever thieves made a plan to steal from there. When the driver woke up, he saw that some people had removed the tarpaulin of the truck and dropped the rice sacks on the ground.
He also found that both the batteries of his truck were also missing. After this the driver became very alert. After some time three people riding a scooty JH 05 BK 7103 reached there. Two people were keeping an eye on the police on both sides of the road and one person started trying to steal rice sacks, hydraulic jack etc. Meanwhile the truck driver started shouting and with the help of passersby caught two thieves. Meanwhile the police reached there and arrested both the thieves. Two stolen sacks of rice, hydraulic jack and both the batteries of the truck were recovered from them. The police have also seized the scooty used in the incident.
