Rewari: 'Why am I killing myself in the womb, mother, let me see the world, mother…'

Rewari, July 12 (HS). Along with propagating the welfare policies of the government, the Bhajan Party artists of Haryana's Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture Department are also making the citizens aware of social evils. On Friday, the artists made the common people aware and inspired them through bhajans and folk songs about preventing female foeticide and empowering women.

Artists of the publicity staff of the Department of Information and Public Relations appealed to the general public to eradicate the social evil of female foeticide from the society through heart-touching folk songs and bhajans like 'Kyon Rahi Garbh Mein Maar Mannai-Maa Dekhan De Sansar Mannai…'. On this occasion, the artists made the general public aware about many schemes related to women empowerment including Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, Mahila Udyamita Yojana, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana in folk singing style. Bhajan party leaders Deepak Kumar, Shyamal Lal, Raj Singh, Deshraj, Sandeep Kumar, Harishchandra etc. told that the Haryana government gives a reward of one lakh rupees for catching those who commit or get female foeticide done. He said that the special campaign being run by the department to reach the public welfare schemes of the Haryana government to the general public is effectively proving the significance of its objective in Rewari district.
