A voter awareness program was organized at the local KLP College on Thursday as part of the voter awareness campaign being run on the directions of Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Abhishek Meena. During the program, Nodal Officer of Sweep Activities and Additional Deputy Commissioner Anupama Anjali released a song written by spokesperson Sudhir on voter awareness, 'No one is more important than vote in democracy'.
After this, the students of Karnavas School gave the message of importance of voting through street play and the students of PM Shri Government Girls Senior Secondary School Rewari gave the message of importance of voting through dance. In his address, the Additional Deputy Commissioner called upon all the voters of Rewari district to participate in voting on 5 October. Election is a festival of democracy, we should participate in this festival like other festivals.
He said that the district administration, information, public relations and language department and educational institutions are organizing various activities to increase the voting percentage. Especially such villages and urban areas have been identified where the voting percentage was very low during the last elections. In such places, programs are being organized under the SWEEP (Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation) campaign.
Voters are being motivated by taking an oath to vote. He said that the aim of SVEEP activities is to ensure that every voter casts his vote and strengthens democracy.
