With the aim of conducting the Haryana Vidhan Sabha general elections in a fair, free and peaceful manner, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Abhishek Meena inspected the MCMC cell set up on the second floor of the Mini Secretariat on Monday and gave necessary guidelines to the officers of the MCMC committee.
He said that the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee should keep a close watch on paid news in view of the Haryana Assembly General Elections and immediately notice the paid news published in the print and electronic media and send its information to the District Election Department so that the expenses related to paid news can be added to the candidate's expense register. On this occasion, he also closely observed the log register and other documents and obtained information.
District Election Officer Abhishek Meena said that before broadcasting the election campaign material of the candidate and the political party on electronic media, a certificate will have to be obtained from the MCMC committee, while it is also mandatory to obtain a certificate for the advertisement published in the print media before and on the day of voting. To obtain the certificate of the campaign material, an application in the prescribed form will have to be made to the MCMC 48 hours in advance.
The work of the MCMC committee is to take action against paid news and provide certificates before the publication and broadcast of election advertisements on media mediums. He said that during the assembly general elections, candidates and political parties can contact the Media Certification and Monitoring Cell established in the DIPR office in room number 311 on the second floor of the Mini Secretariat to obtain certificates for the publication and broadcast of election advertisements.
