Rewa: Ensure all arrangements at the counting venue – Collector

Rewa, 20 May (HS). Collector and District Election Officer Pratibha Pal reviewed the counting preparations in a meeting held at the Collectorate on Monday. On this occasion, he said that the counting of votes for Rewa parliamentary constituency in the Lok Sabha elections 2024 will be held on June 4 at the Government Engineering College. For this, eight assembly wise counting rooms have been made in the Engineering College. About 600 officers and employees are being deployed for counting of votes. They will be given training on 27th May. The employees deployed for sealing of EVMs will be given training on May 28. Ensure all arrangements at the counting site. All Assistant Returning Officers should immediately put on duty the officers and employees required for counting of votes.

The Collector said that the Sub District Election Officer should provide the required quantity of admit cards to the Assistant Returning Officers so that the admit cards are available to the officers and employees on time. Ensure proper arrangements for breakfast, food and drinking water at the counting venue. Arrangements for breakfast and lunch will be made by the Food Department and drinking water will be arranged by the Executive Engineer PHE and Municipal Corporation. Plastic bottles will not be allowed in the counting rooms. Therefore, ensure supply of drinking water by deploying staff in every counting room. Make sure to make arrangements for drinking water, coolers, food, snacks etc. in the media center also. At present the temperature in the district remains continuously high. Due to high temperature, people in the counting center may face health problems. The Chief Medical and Health Officer should create three sectors and deploy treatment teams including doctors. Also make arrangements for an ambulance at the counting centre.

The Collector said that all Assistant Returning Officers should deploy trained computer operators to enter information on the Incor portal. Make the Chief Executive Officers of the district in charge of sealing. The Sub District Election Officer should make the necessary forms and materials available to the Assistant Returning Officers for counting of votes. Make necessary arrangements in the counting center for counting of votes, announcement of election results and distribution of certificates. Deputy District Election Officer Shreyas Gokhale, all Assistant Returning Officers and concerned officers were present in the meeting.
