Revenue of Rs 3,077 crore to political parties in 2022-23

The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) on Wednesday said six national level political parties in the country have declared a total income of Rs 3,077 crore for the financial year 2022-23. Among these political parties, BJP leads with the highest revenue of Rs 2,360.84 crore (76.73 percent). Congress is in second place with an income of Rs 452.37 crore (14.70 percent). BSP, AAP, CPM and National People's Party (NPP) have also declared their earnings. Among these, the income of BJP, AAP and NPP has increased compared to 2021-22, while the income of Congress, CPM and BSP has seen a decrease.

BJP's income has seen an increase of Rs 443.72 crore (23.15 percent) from the financial year 2021-22 to 2022-23. Its income in 2021-22 was Rs 1917.12 crore, which increased to Rs 2360.84 crore in 2022-23. A huge increase of 1502.12 percent was seen in the revenue of NPP. Its income was only Rs 47.20 lakh in 2021-22, which increased by Rs 7.09 crore to Rs 7.56 crore in 2022-23. Your income has increased by Rs 40.63 crore (91.23 percent). Its revenue was Rs 44.53 crore in 2021-22 and increased to Rs 85.17 crore in 2022-23.

There was a continuous decline in the income of Congress, CPM and BSP.

According to the records submitted by these parties to the Election Commission, ADR has shown a decline of Rs 88.90 crore (16.42 per cent), Rs 20.57 crore (12.68 per cent) in the income of Congress, CPM and BSP from 2021-22 to 2022-23. per cent) and Rs 14.50 crore (33.14 per cent) respectively were quoted. Meanwhile, the BJP spent only Rs 1361.68 crore (57.68 per cent) of the Rs 443.72 crore declared revenue during 2022-23, while the Congress spent Rs 467.13 crore, 3.26 per cent more than the total revenue of Rs 452.37 crore. CPM had spent Rs 106 crore i.e. 74.87 percent of the total income of Rs 141.66 crore. Aam Aadmi Party spent Rs 102.05 crore during 2022-23, which is 19.82 percent more than its total income of Rs 85.17 crore. It is noteworthy that the Supreme Court has canceled the electoral bond scheme and there is a possibility that the income of every party will decrease in the next year.
