Retired District Judge faces threat to life, contempt notice to Police Commissioner


Prayagraj, 09 May (HS). Allahabad High Court has issued contempt notice to Varanasi Police Commissioner Mohit Aggarwal and others. It is said that prima facie a contempt case is made out against the opposition police commissioner. The Police Commissioner is accused of not following the order to provide security to the petitioner.

Justice Rohit Ranjan Aggarwal has given this order while hearing the contempt petition of retired District Judge Gyan Prakash Mishra. He says that his brother was married to the daughter of Vashishtha Prasad Shukla. There is a family dispute between the two. Due to the shortcomings in its investigation, the court had pulled up the officials and had also summoned them. Also, the Police Commissioner was ordered to provide security to the petitioner. The petitioner gave a representation but the court order is not being followed. He is in danger of life. An attempt has been made to attack. The next hearing of the petition will take place after a month.
