Retired Commander Amit Nagpal, who returned to India after being released, said – 'I will go to other countries but will never go to Qatar'

Retired Indian Navy Commander Amit Nagpal, who returned home after being released from Qatar, said that I had a strong belief in my mind that I was innocent and would be released one day. Spent days in jail with this belief. He said that the feelings of returning home cannot be expressed in words. Returning home is no less than a dream come true.

Commander Amit Nagpal lives in Noida Sector-29 Arun Vihar. He is survived by his wife Monga Nagpal and their son. In the year 2017, he started working in Qatar's Dhara Global Company. He used to provide naval training in Qatar. The Qatar Navy personnel were greatly impressed by his training and considered him as their mentor.

Everything was going well in Qatar. Meanwhile, on the night of 30 August 2022, Qatar Police suddenly arrested him on charges of espionage. For a moment I couldn't believe what was happening. The entire family is in shock after the incident. Due to the efforts of the Government of India, he was released from jail on 11 February after about 528 days and returned home on 12 February.

As soon as he came out of the jail entrance, Indian Embassy officials were standing in front to welcome him. After staying at the embassy for some time, he reached Qatar airport and from there took a plane to Delhi airport. After reaching India, he informed his wife Monga Nagpal in Qatar about returning home. At that time wife Monga Nagpal was at Doha Airport. She was about to board a flight to Shirdi Sai Temple in Mumbai. He told that I have reached Delhi airport. Now you also come. Hearing this, Monga Nagpal's happiness knew no bounds. He said that after this accident he will go to other countries of the world but will not go to Qatar. People passing through the skies of Qatar will not even go by plane.
