Dehri on Sone, 04 August (HS). Oppose negative journalism strongly with positive journalism. Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav said this on Sunday evening while addressing the closing ceremony of the two-day executive meeting of the National Union of Journalists in the auditorium of Gopal Narayan Singh University located in Jamuhar of Rohtas district.

He said that in the recent elections there was an onslaught of negative news in the electronic media. People believed it. Positive journalism was not strongly opposed.

He said that he has a long-standing attachment to journalism. During the Emergency, he raised the problems of the common man through Lokwani. It was printed and sent to all the blocks of three districts, Patna, Bhojpur and Nalanda. My house was confiscated. For one and a half years, my family lived by putting curtains on the doors and windows.

He said that all of you should think about what should be the role of the press in the current environment.

He said that the soldiers of the country are fighting on the border for the protection of the country and not for any post. Bhagat Singh and Babu Kunwar Singh sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country. They did not serve the nation for the greed of any post. Serving the nation does not require any post.

He said that there was a time when this nation did not get the respect it deserves in the world. Today the situation is that our youths carrying the national flag were taken out of the Ukraine-Russia war by stopping it. People of the neighbouring country also took our flag out of the battlefield. This is a matter of pride for our country. He said that the history of our country has been glorious, of which we all are proud.

We will become a developed nation in 2047, the 100th anniversary of the country. This is the resolution of the countrymen. We have reached the moon. We have reached a place where no country in the world has reached till date.

He said that all of you should think about what should be the role of the press in the current environment. By doing positive journalism, you will play your role in strengthening the nation.

Chancellor of Gopal Narayan Singh University, Gopal Narayan Singh suggested doing nationalist journalism for the development of the country. National General Secretary of the Union, Suresh Sharma said that in the two-day meeting, the emphasis was laid on recognizing nationalist journalism as a big movement. National President Ashok Malik discussed the challenges faced by journalists and said that credibility must be maintained. He expressed concern over the attacks on journalists and it was decided to make efforts to get the law made for the safety of journalists effectively implemented by the state governments. Former Principal Guru Charan Singh discussed the history of journalism and the struggle journey of journalists. Doctor, Dr. Nirmal Kushwaha, BJP's State Minister Trivikram Narayan Singh also addressed the meeting. The meeting was conducted by Dadan Pandey.
