Rescue operation started with MI and Chinook after the weather cleared

Rudraprayag/Kedarnath, 05 August (HS). On Monday, the fifth day of the Kedarghati disaster, the search and rescue operation of pilgrims stranded on the Kedarnath Dham Yatra route is continuing. As the weather has cleared, the work of airlifting with MI 17 and Chinook helicopters has started. 100 people have been sent from Kedar Dham in the morning.

Dog squads led by DMMO Nandan Singh Rajwar have started the search operation in Bhimbali area from Rambada since Monday morning. On Monday morning, 100 people have been sent from Kedarnath Dham to Lincholi helipad under the supervision of security forces. These passengers will be airlifted from Lincholi and landed at Shersi helipad. Apart from this, NDRF teams are also continuously conducting search operations in the forest and around the Mandakini river.

On Monday, as the weather in Kedar Valley cleared, airlift has started with MI 17 and Chinook. MI is landing passengers at Chardham helipad while Chinook will land passengers at Gauchar airstrip.

The search operation continued with the help of sniffer dogs till late Sunday evening. The search operation from Lincholi to Rambada area has been completed in which no person has been found so far.
