Repair work of roads affected by heavy rains continues on war footing across the state | News India

Gandhinagar: After heavy rains across the state, small roads/roads connecting district talukas, cities and villages have been damaged due to waterlogging. To ensure that citizens do not face any kind of problem in transport facilities, Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel has ordered the District Collector/Municipal Commissioner to complete this work quickly, under which the affected roads have been repaired. The Road and Building Department is working on a war footing.

In Morbi district, the Road and Building Department Panchayat is repairing the roads on a war footing after the rains stopped. Under which, the damaged Dhulkot-Balganga-Koyali road of Morbi, the road connecting Lagdhirpur to the National Highway, the road connecting Savdi to Nesada in Tankara taluka, the road from Tapa to Shapar, Ravapar (river), all roads including metal paving, have been restored by doing immediate patch work. Similarly, due to heavy rains for two days in Surendranagar district, repair, re-surfacing, metalwork work is being done in full swing under the guidance of the District Collector.

Out of 68 panchayat-owned roads in the district, the necessary repair work of 54 roads has been completed promptly. While efforts are being made by the system to make 14 roads operational as soon as possible. Roads and Buildings Out of 23 state-owned roads, 20 roads have been opened for vehicle traffic by completing repairs, pothole repairs, metal patchwork, etc. While there has been extensive rain in Bhavnagar district, Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation has started the work of repairing, metalworking and making roads motorable in different areas at a rapid pace.

The Nagar Palika is getting the road repair work done using advanced technology cold mix jet patcher machine. A campaign has been launched to make the roads motorable by using Paraja/Morram material from Top Three Circle to Adhevada Road, Time Residency Wala Khancho near Singh Circle, Ruwapari to Tekri Chowk, Adodiawas Kansara, Kantha Wala Road to Ajay Society, Ghogha Circle near Union Bank, DB Park Bala Hanuman Wala. Thus, the repair work of 21 out of 34 roads has been completed.

Due to incidents like road erosion, potholes in rural roads due to rain in Aravalli district, the road construction department of District Panchayat, Aravalli has started the repair and renovation of 10 out of 20 roads and is working diligently.

A total of 25 state roads were damaged in Kutch due to heavy rains. However, the Road and Buildings Department has started work on war footing with day and night operations on 17 roads. While 8 roads in the district are closed due to waterlogging, 46 panchayat-owned roads and 3 state-owned roads in Jamnagar district have been made ready to reopen soon after the rainwater recedes. Keeping in mind the convenience of the people, the district administration has got the road repair work done on a war footing to restore vehicular traffic.

As a result, all state-owned roads are currently operational. 33 panchayat-owned roads have already been made operational. Of the 13 roads that are closed, most are due to over topping, which will be reopened after the water subsides, Similarly, after heavy rains and flood situation in Devbhoomi Dwarka district, the district administration has repaired 29 of the 32 rural roads affected by the floods. Patch work and finishing work has been completed. Work is in progress on other routes as well.
