News India Live, Digital Desk: Bihar Assembly Speaker (Speaker) Dr. Prem Kumar has reorganized 20 out of 28 important committees of the Assembly for the financial year 2026-27. Many veteran faces from the ruling party and the opposition have been given place in this new structure, which will be effective from April 1, 2026. The most special thing about this reorganization is that MLAs with strong image have also been given important responsibilities, whereas NDA’s ally Chirag Paswan’s LJP (Ram Vilas) has not got the chairmanship of any committee at present.
Increased influence of strong MLAs
Some famous names have been awarded important posts in these committees of the Assembly.
Manoranjan Singh alias Dhumal Singh: The powerful MLA from Ekma has been made the chairman of the committee related to tourism industry.
Anant Kumar Singh: Former Mokama MLA and famous leader Anant Singh has been included as a member in the Environment Protection and Pollution Control Committee.
Brother Virendra (RJD): Bhai Virendra, a prominent leader of the main opposition party RJD, has also been given the responsibility of an important committee.
Which party got how much presidency?
The ruling party has a strong dominance in the reconstituted 20 committees, although opposition parties have also been given representation.
BJP: BJP has command of maximum 9 committees.
JDU: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s party has got the chairmanship of 6 committees.
Other: RLM, HAM, RJD, Congress and AIMIM have got the post of chairman of one committee each.
LJP (LJP-R): Chirag Paswan’s party and leftist parties (CPI-ML, CPM) have not been given the leadership of any committee at present.
Role of Speaker and Deputy CM
