Renovation of Kamakhya Temple started on the recommendation of Tourism Department – ​​News India Live

On the recommendation of the Tourism Department, to preserve the historical and religious heritage, the government has approved Rs 1,11 crore for the renovation of Kamakhya Temple of Devgaon in Sumerpur area. To start the construction work, the government has released an amount of Rs 50 lakh to the executing agency UP Projects Corporation Limited. On Sunday, the executing organization started the construction work by performing Bhoomi Pujan at the hands of Sadar MLA.

Kamakhya temple situated in Devgaon of Sumerpur area has historical importance. This place was discovered during the time of Chandela kings and during their reign the pond along with the temple was constructed. Since then this temple is the center of people's faith. The Tourism Department had prepared a report on its renovation and sent it to the government. The government has sanctioned Rs 1,11 crore for the construction of the temple and has released an amount of Rs 50 lakh to the executing agency to start the construction.

On Sunday, Sadar MLA Dr. Manoj Kumar Prajapati, Block Chief Jayanarayan Singh Yadav, Village Head Jitendra Khare inaugurated the work by performing Bhoomi Pujan in the temple premises.
