Religious punishment of Akali leaders begins, punishment to be served in Darbar Sahib on the first day

Chandigarh, 03 December (HS). The sentencing of Akali leaders of Punjab began from Darbar Sahib Amritsar on Tuesday after Akal Takht Sahib Jathedar Giani Raghubir Singh pronounced the sentence. Former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal and other Akali leaders reached Darbar Sahib on Tuesday morning. Here, Sukhbir Badal and Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, wearing the attire of sevadars, did duty as guards outside the main gate of Darbar Sahib for an hour. After this, Sukhbir Badal and all the other leaders sat with the Sangat and listened to the lesson for an hour and apologized for the mistake they had committed. Sukhbir Badal stayed in the Golden Temple from 9 am to 12 noon.

After listening to the Kirtan, Sukhbir Badal finally served the empty utensils. After this he left Darbar Sahib. In the evening he again reached Darbar Sahib and here he served the shoes. During this period, the managers of Darbar Sahib ensured his presence in every service.

Whereas former ministers Bikram Majithia and Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa served empty utensils. Apart from this, Prem Singh Chandumajra, Surjit Singh Rakhra, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Bikram Majithia and Mahesh Inder Grewal served the punishment of the first day by cleaning public toilets. This punishment of Akali leaders will continue in the same manner on Wednesday also. After this, as per the instructions issued by Akal Takht, the Akali leaders will go to the next Gurudwara Sahib to complete their sentence.
