Due to these reasons, the number of employees reduced
According to the news shared by Tech Investor on X, Reliance Industries has reduced its total number of employees to 42 thousand in the financial year 2023-24. It is being said that due to this major reduction in the number of employees, Reliance Industries is focusing on cutting costs and reducing the pace of recruitment.
Biggest cut in retail segment
Reliance Industries had recently given information about the reduction of employees in its annual report. According to the annual report, the workforce of Reliance Industries is going to decline by 11 percent in 2023-24, the biggest decline in the workforce at the end of the last financial year was in the retail sector of Reliance Industries, which fell to 2. 07,552 which is equivalent to about 60 percent of its total workforce. However, a year ago there were 2,45,581 employees working in the retail sector.
Jio has 5.5% less employees
Apart from retail, the number of employees of Reliance Jio has also decreased significantly. At the end of FY 2022-23, Reliance Jio had 95,326 employees, which decreased to 90,067 at the end of FY 2023-24. This means that the number of employees of Reliance Jio has decreased by about five and a half percent during the last financial year.
