New Delhi, October 5 (HS). Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi's short story collection 'Low Hanging Fruits', Member Secretary, Indira Gandhi National Center for the Arts, was released in a program organized at the India International Center on Saturday. Former Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Najeeb Jung, writer and social worker Lady Kishwar Desai and Madan Mohan Chaturvedi were present on this occasion.
Author Dr. Joshi said that this book will introduce people to the philosophy of life in which true happiness lies in small everyday moments. Often, in our pursuit of bigger things, we overlook the simple joys that truly make life worthwhile. The latest collection, 'Low Hanging Fruit', took a lot of time and perseverance to complete. He dedicated this book to his English teacher Kamaluddin Nizami. He said that when the book was first presented to his mother she encouraged him to launch it with proper recognition.
Commenting on the writing style of the book, Dr. Joshi said that 'Low Hanging Fruit' goes beyond traditional genres and weaves together travelogues, memoirs and fiction into a hybrid style of storytelling. His narratives are based on real-life observations, transforming insignificant moments into thought-provoking stories. Each piece, such as 'Sizzling Samosa', brings a slice of life to the reader, full of his signature humor and depth.
Lady Kishwar Desai, while appreciating the book, said that Dr. Joshi is a born storyteller whose sharp memory enables him to recall and re-weave small details that others might overlook. Lady Desai suggested that these stories, when narrated by Dr Joshi with drama and acting, could make for an interesting podcast. Former Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, while appreciating the book, said that Dr. Joshi has the skill to write seamlessly in both English and Hindi which is a singular achievement.
