Varanasi, 25 September (HS). On the eve of the 42nd convocation of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, its rehearsal was done as per tradition amid tight security on Wednesday. In the rehearsal, the educational delegation was taken out at 4 pm. The graduates were presented. Vice Chancellor Prof. Bihari Lal Sharma also gave the Vidyavaridhi degree certificate. Before this, the ground breaking ceremony of the convocation venue was done amid chanting of mantras at 9 am. As per tradition, the Vice Chancellor worshipped the convocation hall (main building) with rituals.
After this, Baba Shri Kashi Vishwanath Ji and Maa Vagdevi were prayed for the successful completion of the convocation. In the afternoon, a meeting of the Vidya Parishad was held under the chairmanship of the Vice Chancellor and the medals and titles were approved. Vice Chancellor Prof. Bihari Lal Sharma said that the convocation will be held on Thursday, 26th September at 10 AM in the historic main building located in the campus under the chairmanship of Chancellor and Governor of the state Anandi Ben Patel. The chief guest of the ceremony, NAAC Chairman Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabuddhe will deliver the convocation address. The special guest will be Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay. According to Vice Chancellor Prof. Sharma, 13733 degrees and 56 medals will be given to 31 meritorious students in the 42nd convocation. The heads of all the departments of the university will administer the oath to the graduates in the ceremony. He said that after the academic delegation, the national anthem, Mangalacharan, Kulgeet, Jalbharo, degree distribution will take place in the convocation.
