Guwahati, 05 October (Hindustan Reporter). The Regional Research Institute (Homeopathy) in Guwahati has undertaken several clinical projects with the promise of improving public health. These include studies on allergic rhinitis, chronic urticaria, hypothyroidism, piles and projects focused on improving the health of tea plantation workers in the Amsong region. In parallel, the Institute also runs flagship programs of the Central Council for Research in Homeopathy such as Drug Proving Program and Clinical Verification Programme.
The above things were said today during a press conference titled '100 Days Achievements of Health Ministry' organized by the Regional Research Institute (Homeopathy), Guwahati, under the Ministry of Health, Government of India, at Dispur Press Club.
The institute has also established a tuberculosis detection and treatment centre. In addition, the institute provides maternal and child out-patient and general out-patient facilities on all working days. They also provide medicines and laboratory tests at affordable government rates as well as free consultation. It provides free services to below poverty line (BPL) patients and 50 percent discount on registration for senior citizens.
The Regional Research Institute (Homeopathy) at Guwahati has achieved significant success in creating health awareness among the different ethnic groups of Assam. Under the SCSP programme, the institute has achieved great successes in school health programmes, homeopathy programs for healthy children and health camps. The Safai Mitra Health Camp and Poshan Maah program inaugurated by Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in Dibrugarh has inspired this. Under these initiatives various health awareness talks were organized on topics like breastfeeding and child nutrition.
In the last 100 days, Guwahati Regional Research Institute (Homeopathy) has initiated 45 new research studies in the field of clinical, basic and drug standardization. Collaboration with international institutions such as the Royal London Hospital of Integrated Medicine in the UK is an important achievement. Central Council for Research in Homeopathy has implemented AYUSH Hospital Management Information System (A-HMIS) in 20 health institutions. More than 1 lakh 50 thousand patients have been registered in the last 100 days. Central Council for Research in Homeopathy has conducted 49 webinars reaching out to more than 16 thousand participants across the world. As a result, homeopathic medicine has gained global popularity today.
The program was presided over by Dr. Amulya Ratna Sahu, Officer-in-Charge, Regional Research Institute (Homeopathy), Guwahati. He was accompanied by researchers Dr. Lee Carso and Dr. Manit and other officials of the institute.
