New Delhi, 30 October (Hindustan Reporter). Former Indian batsman Robin Uthappa is all set to lead the Indian team during the Hong Kong Sixes 2024. The right-handed batsman expressed his eagerness for the tournament and further said that he feels honored to be the captain of the team.
According to a Hong Kong Cricket release, Uthappa said, “I am very excited to be a part of the Hong Kong Sixers 2024 and it is an honor to lead the Indian team. Some great cricket matches will be seen on 1, 2 and 3 November.”
The Indian team will include players like Kedar Jadhav, Manoj Tiwari, Stuart Binny, Shrivats Goswami, Bharat Chipli and Shahbaz Nadeem. Chipli and Goswami also expressed their happiness at representing India in this fast-paced form of the game.
“It is a great feeling to represent India at the Hong Kong Sixes 2024, which is sure to have some exciting contests and entertaining performances,” Chipley said.
Meanwhile, Srivatsa Goswami said, “Hong Kong Sixes is a unique format of the game and I can't wait to represent India.”
All-rounder Stuart Binny, who has played a key role for India, is excited to play against some of the best cricketers from around the world.
“I am thrilled to represent India at the Hong Kong Sixes 2024 and look forward to playing against some of the best players in the world,” he said.
Hong Kong captain Nizakhat Khan said, “All Hong Kong cricket fans, get ready, because the Hong Kong Sixers is back after seven years. This competition will be played between November 1 and November 3.”
The Hong Kong Sixes 2024 will begin on November 1 and run until November 3 at the Tin Kwong Road Cricket Ground, with 12 teams competing in six-a-side matches. Hosts Hong Kong will take on South Africa in the first match, while arch-rivals India and Pakistan will also face each other on the opening day.
