National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has introduced a very exciting and huge recruitment opportunity for the experienced and retired professionals of the country. NHAI has released bumper vacancy for experienced candidates above 60 years of age on various technical and administrative posts on contractual basis. The most special thing about this recruitment process is that the candidates selected in it will be given direct joining and posting in 4 major metros of the country like Lucknow, Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru. This recruitment drive, launched with the aim of providing modern technology and expertise to the country’s highway infrastructure, has generated huge enthusiasm among retired officers and senior technical experts.
According to the official notification released by the National Highway Authority of India, mainly the posts of Consultant, Senior Technical Expert and Site Engineer are to be filled under this recruitment drive. All those candidates who have retired from Public Works Department (PWD), Central Public Works Department (CPWD), Railways or other Public Undertakings (PSUs) of Central or State Government can participate in this recruitment. The minimum age limit for the applying candidates has been kept at 60 years, while the maximum age limit has been set at 65 years. Eligible candidates will be selected on the basis of their previous experience, educational qualification and interview, in which no written examination will be conducted.
Candidates selected on these posts drawn by NHAI will be posted in the 4 most important regional offices of the country – Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Mumbai (Maharashtra), Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru (Karnataka). The services of these experienced officers will be used to accelerate the ongoing expressway projects, widening of national highways and modern infrastructure development work in these cities. The long administrative experience of these senior professionals will prove to be extremely useful in completing new and complex projects in a timely manner in view of the increasing traffic pressure in big cities like Lucknow and Mumbai.
Senior experts appointed on contract basis in NHAI will be given attractive monthly honorarium based on their post and previous pay scale. According to the post, the selected candidates are being offered a salary ranging from Rs 70,000 to Rs 1,50,000 per month. Along with this, many other facilities like Traveling Allowance (TA), Mobile/Internet Allowance and Medical Insurance will also be provided as per rules. Initially this appointment will be done on contract basis for 1 to 2 years, which can be extended further as per the performance of the candidate and the requirement of the project.
