Through this recruitment drive, recruitment will be done in various branches including General Duty (GD) and Technical (Engineering and Electrical/Electronics). However, the application process has not started yet. The online application process for Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2024 will start from 5th December and end on 24th December 2024. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official website from 05 December to 24 December 2024. Through this recruitment, 140 vacancies will be filled in General Duty (GD) and technical branches. This includes Scheduled Caste (SC) 17, Scheduled Tribe (ST) 17, Other Backward Class (OBC) 47, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) 4, Unreserved (UR) 55 seats.

Required eligibility and age limit for recruitment
General Duty (GD): For General Duty (GD) post, candidates must have graduation degree with Mathematics and Physics till 12th from a recognized school education board. The minimum age of the candidate should be 21 years and maximum age should be 25 years. Candidate should be born between 01 July 2000 to 30 June 2004.
Technical (Engineering and Electrical/Electronics): Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics etc. up to 12th with Mathematics and Physics subjects from a recognized School Education Board. The minimum age of the candidate should be 21 years and maximum age should be 25 years. Candidate should be born between 01 July 2000 to 30 June 2004.
The selection process will be like this
There are five stages in the selection process for the post of Assistant Commandant of the Indian Coast Guard. In the first phase, Coast Guard Common Admission Test (CGCAT) will be conducted. It will be a computer based screening test covering subjects like English, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, General Science, Mathematics and General Knowledge and will have 100 multiple choice questions. The second phase will include Computerized Cognitive Battery Test (CCBT) and Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PP&DT). The third stage will be psychological testing, group work and personal interview. In the fourth phase, there will be medical examination of the selected candidates. The investigation will be done at Base Hospital, New Delhi. Then in the fifth and final stage the selected candidates will be given training at the Indian Naval Academy Ezhimala.
