Record breaking heat in western America, about 16.20 crore (half) population devastated by severe heat

Washington: America is experiencing record-breaking heat. The heat has created havoc in western America. As a result, 16 crore 20 lakh people of the country – that is, almost half the population – have been affected by the scorching heat. This is what the National Weather Service says.

The organization said in a post that on Sunday, temperatures in Las Vegas, Nevada soared to 120 degrees Fahrenheit, while Death Valley in California became a de facto “valley of death” due to the scorching heat. The temperature there reached 128 degrees Fahrenheit.

On the other hand, Cyclone Beryl left more than 2 million people without power in Texas last Tuesday.

In this regard, President Biden also said in a statement that the biggest concern at the moment is the lack of electricity and the heat has also had a serious impact on the people of Texas.

Not just the western US, but also the south-eastern US and the eastern coastal region – the entire area from Florida to Massachusetts has been affected by the scorching heat.

It is known that many people die due to this abnormal heat.

One motorcyclist died of heatstroke on Saturday, while others are being treated in a hospital, a National Park Service official said.
