Record breaking heat in October! Hottest month since 1951, cold season will start from this day

Weather Forecast: Usually October starts with pink cold, but this year this month has created a special record. The Meteorological Department said on Friday (1 November 2024) that October this year has been the hottest month so far in the country.

Central India (Madhya Pradesh, parts of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh) topped the average temperature charts in October, being the warmest on record. However, northwest India recorded its second hottest month since 1901.

According to the Meteorological Department, this October has been the hottest in India since 1901. The average temperature in this month was usually recorded above 1.23 °C. India Meteorological Department (IMD) Director General Mrityunjay Maharpatra said the normal temperature in October was recorded at 26.92 degrees Celsius, the hottest since 1901. However, the normal temperature is 25.69 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was also recorded at 21.85 degrees Celsius against the countrywide average of 20.01 degrees Celsius.

The average temperature of October in Delhi was 35.1

Talking about Delhi, the heat in October has broken the record of the last 73 years. According to Delhi's Safdarganj Meteorological Centre, October this year has been the hottest month since 1951. The maximum temperature in the capital in October this year was 35.1 degrees Celsius. Earlier, the highest temperature was recorded in the year 1951 at 36.2 degrees Celsius.

Normal decline will start in the second week of November

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, higher than normal temperatures may begin in many parts of the country in the first two weeks of November. A normal decline is expected in the second week after which the temperatures will fall gradually during the remaining days of the month.

What is the reason?

According to meteorologists, the reason for the absence of cold is the absence of La Nina. In fact, it is a climatic phenomenon associated with periodic cooling of sea surface temperatures in the central and east-central Mediterranean Pacific, which has not yet developed. La Niña is predicted to occur in late November and early December. But if this happens then there is a possibility of severe cold in the next (December-February).
