Vientiane (Laos), October 10 (Hindustan Reporter) Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Laos today on a two-day visit to participate in the ASEAN-India and East Asia Summit. Prime Minister Modi was given a warm welcome in Laos. People recited Gayatri Mantra. Bihu dance was also performed to welcome him.

Prime Minister Modi wrote on his X handle, “The welcome to Lao PDR was memorable. The Indian community is clearly very attached to its roots. Happy to see people dancing Bihu and talking Hindi. I have reached Lao PDR. Looking forward to discussions with various world leaders.”

Prime Minister Modi is also seen giving autographs to children in the video uploaded on X handle. He caressed the children by caressing their heads. It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Modi reached Vientiane today on a two-day visit at the invitation of Sonexay Sifanadon, Prime Minister of the People's Democratic Republic of Laos (Lao PDR). Laos is the current chair of ASEAN, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. During this period, Prime Minister Modi will participate in the 21st ASEAN-India Summit and the 19th East Asia Summit.

The people of Laos welcomed Prime Minister Modi at Hotel Double Tree and greeted him in Hindi. People from the Indian diaspora and Lao community also recited the Gayatri Mantra. After this, Prime Minister Modi participated in the blessing ceremony of senior Buddhist monks of Laos.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for Laos from New Delhi this morning and wrote on his This is a special year as we celebrate a decade of our Act East Policy, which has brought substantial benefits to our country. Various bilateral meetings and interactions will also take place with various world leaders during the visit.
