Recently, 2 lakh devotees in Thailand paid respect to the holy remains of Lord Buddha

Thousands of devotees paid homage to the sacred relics of Lord Buddha and his two disciples in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand on Tuesday. On the last day of the exhibition, devotees reached Wat Maha Vanaram in Ubon Ratchathani to view the sacred relics.

“Today, more than two lakh devotees reached Wat Maha Vanaram in Ubon Ratchathani to visit sacred relics from India,” the Indian Embassy in Thailand said in a tweet on Twitter. Let us tell you that tomorrow is the last day of the exhibition in Ubon Ratchathani before the holy relics of Lord Buddha and his disciples go to Krabi.

The Indian Embassy further said in the post, 'The holy relics of Lord Buddha and his disciples Arahant Sariputta and Arahant Maha Moggallana arrived in Ubon Ratchathani, a city in northeastern Thailand. These remains will be kept in Vat Maha Vanaram from 10 to 13 March. Earlier, the holy relics were in the city of Chiang Mai, where thousands of devotees gathered for darshan.

Indian Embassy appreciates Thailand's support

Therefore, the Indian Embassy appreciated the continued support of Thai Prime Minister Shretha Thavisin and her government during the ongoing protests, saying that this will further deepen relations between the people of the two countries.

Let us tell you that earlier, about 10 lakh devotees had gathered in Bangkok from February 23 to March 3 to see the holy relics, for which Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the close spiritual ties between India and Thailand.

The relics, which were on display for 25 days in 4 cities across Thailand, were placed for public veneration in a specially built pavilion on the Sanam Luang Royal Palace grounds during their stay in Bangkok.

Remains will be sent to Krabi

After the exhibition in the cities of Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Ubon Ratchathani, the remains will be sent to Krabi. Following this, an exhibition of holy relics will be held in Krabi from 14-18 March. The sacred relics will be returned to their respective homes from Thailand on March 19, concluding a historically and spiritually rich display in Thailand.
